After weeks away, the Champions League comes back to life with four thrilling encounters over Tuesday & Wednesday evening. Ahead of the big games, we have decided to assess the chances of the four sides playing tonight in going all the way to the final in Kiev. As ever you can watch all the action with beIN SPORTS CONNECT.
FC Porto
Can the Dragões pull off a shock when they welcome Liverpool to the Estádio do Dragão on Wednesday evening? The Portuguese side progressed to the knock out stage at the expense of RB Leipzig and Monaco. Whilst Porto have yet to be defeated in the league and come into the tie after a comprehensive 4-0 win over Chaves. In striker Vincent Aboubakar, Porto has a credible goal threat who could trouble the Liverpool backline. The Cameroon international has grabbed 15 goals in all competitions this season and will be a threat against a Liverpool side who has struggled to play against bustling centre-forwards in the past.
Liverpool
Liverpool will be hoping that they can continue their impressive Champions League form heading into the knockout phase. The Reds went undefeated in the group stage and topped their group which included Sevilla and Spartak Moscow. Despite losing Phillipe Coutinho in the January transfer window, Jurgen Klopp still has a formidable squad to choose from. Summer signing Mohammed Salah has been imperious so far and the Egyptian attacker will be looking to add to his six goals scored in the Champions League this season.

Real Madrid
It’s safe to say that Real Madrid has endured a rough patch in recent months, bowing out of the Copa del Rey to lowly Leganes and all but surrendering the league to arch-rivals Barcelona. Zinedine Zidane has remained composed in the face of increasing pressure and could be out of a job if his side suffers a heavy defeat. Real are back to back Champions League winners and exactly know what it takes to go all the way, and even in the face of poor domestic form cannot be underestimated to be in the Kiev final come May.
Paris Saint Germain
Having scored 25 goals and topped the group PSG will be heading into their Valentine’s day match against Real Madrid in high spirits. The Parisians have a 12 point lead at the top of Ligue 1, and head coach Unai Emery knows full well that his tenure will be judged on how his side progress in the Champions League. In Neymar, PSG has currently the world’s most expensive player and an attacker who is more than capable of turning the tie in the Parisians favour. Much of PSG’s performance will depend on the mercurial Brazilian turning up for his side when it matters.
