Nigeria moved three spots in the latest FIFA ranking to move to 41st in the world.

Nigeria’s victory against Zambia; thanks to Alex Iwobi’s 73rd-minute goal in the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier, was the only match taken into consideration for the period under review since the 14 September ranking.
Despite the move, Nigeria maintains their position on the continent.

Gernot Rohr’s men remain in fifth spot just behind Tunisia, Egypt, Senegal and DR Congo in Africa.
There was a change in the summit though as Tunisia replaced Egypt as Africa’s top ranked team.
The Carthage Eagles improved by three positions, while the Pharaohs were non movers in the latest issue.
Meanwhile, the larger picture makes pleasant reading for many European nations, with Germany holding on to top spot and France (7, up 1), England (12, up 3), Denmark (19, up 7), Scotland (29, up 14) and Austria (39, up 18) among others making significant gains.
The next FIFA World Ranking will be published on 23 November 2017 according to the world governing body
