With reports suggesting that the NFF are making frantic moves to stop Gernot Rohr from recalling Enyeama to the National team, Akpoborie who is always known for his frank disposition on issues asked that the Franco-German to make his choices. In a series of tweets on Wednesday, Akpoborie wondered why NFF will want to have a say in players' selection but would absolve them and sack the coach when things go wrong. Ebele, a goalkeeper, plays for Heartland, who have recently gained promotion to the Nigeria Professional Football League, and was voted player of the season for the former Nigerian champions, as they made an instant return to the Nigerian top flight. The Naze Millionaires topped the Nigeria National League Southern conference with several matches to spare. And the club have now said the main reason for this was goalkeeper Ebele Obi. Club spokesman Solomon Onu said the former Enugu Rangers shot stopper was incredible throughout their promotion campaign in the lower league. Ebele recorded 15 clean sheets in 27 matches in the NNL and he was also the star as Heartland reached the Round of 16 of the Aiteo Cup.
